WINFIELD SCOTT HANCOCK

Born in Montgomery, Pennsylvania on February 14, 1824. Graduated the youngest in his class at West Point in 1844. Commanded the Union Army's 2nd Corps on May 2, 1863. Reconstruction military Governor of Louisiana and Texas. Died at Governor's Island, New York on February 9, 1886. Buried near his home in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
